AR Audiobooks

Hey Parents - WE want to help your child reach their school’s AR Reading Goal by providing them with premium AR audiobooks that can be downloaded to your computer, and then transferred to any device including an iPod, Smartphone, or Tablet. Your child will be able to listen to their AR audiobooks from their device and experience books in a fun and exciting new way. With everything needed for AR including AR Book Level, AR Points, and AR Quiz #, when your child has finished listening, they will be able to go to school, take the AR test, and achieve their AR goal, just like traditional reading. These AR audiobooks support your child’s new Common Core standards at their school and are intended to supplement their reading, not replace it. Audiobooks mixed with traditional reading provide the greatest benefit to all students.

Fact or Fiction?

image 1. Listening to audiobooks is cheating – real reading can only take place with a print book.

FICTION – Audiobooks enable the listener to understand the message, think critically about the content, use imagination, and make connections with the book.

2. Children will stop reading print books if they start listening to audiobooks.

FICTION – AR audiobooks are intended to supplement their traditional reading, not replace it. Students will continue to read print books, even if they listen to a few audiobooks each quarter.

3. Audiobooks are a hassle.

FICTION – All audiobooks are available for instant download, without restrictions, and can be transferred to any device, including an iPod, Smartphone, or Tablet (takes ~10 minutes).

4. Audiobooks are too expensive.

FICTION – A primary goal of My Audiobook Library is to keep prices as low as possible, making them affordable for everyday families. In fact, our prices are 20% lower than our competition. Pay only $11.95 for 1 audiobook per month or $19.95 for 2 audiobooks per month (only $10/audiobook). As a member, you will save up to 70% off retail prices for audiobooks.

5. Audiobooks do not support the new Common Core Standards.

FICTION – Audiobooks support each component of the Common Core Standards, including Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening, Language, and Media and Technology.

6. Audiobooks are only for second-language learners, learning-disabled or –impaired students, and struggling readers or nonreaders.

FICTION – Audiobooks are for all students including average, avid, and gifted readers. Listening to audiobooks builds listening skills, attention span, and help kids build their capacity to focus.

“I love to read, but don’t always have time. Audiobooks are great.” –Madisen, 6th Grader
About My Audiobook Library: We are a local small business in Arizona with children attending elementary, middle, and high schools. We understand the difficulty of reaching an AR Reading Goal while also juggling sports and the increasing demands of academics. Our goal is to help children succeed by helping to improve literacy one child at a time. Our selection of AR audiobook titles will soon grow to over 500 within the next few weeks, and continue to grow as we add more titles from additional publishers.
